What a Great Day to Be a Second Grader!

Wow! We had a great day in second grade yesterday! In science we learned about reversible and irreversible change. We learned that reversible change is like when a popsicle starts as a liquid, freezes to a solid, and can melt back to a liquid. Next we learned about irreversible changes by making applesauce! When heat is added to the apples, they become soft and mushy applesauce. You can not turn the applesauce back into apples, but you can eat it!

We also had a guest speaker, Kathy Doornbos, read us the story Granite, by Susan Butcher and David Monson. She met David Monson and asked him to sign the book with a dedication to Douglas Elementary School Library! After we enjoyed the story, she donated the book to our school library for all students to enjoy! Thank you so much, Kathy Doornbos!
