Simplifying Strategies in Math

We are now working on adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers in math. The past couple of days we have worked on finding strategies to simplify a problem so that you do not need to regroup. In addition we try to make a hundred and in subtraction we use a tape diagram to change the problem into a problem that does not involve borrowing. Please see the pictures below for examples of how to solve both types of problems.
