Saugatuck-Douglas Project 2018

Thanks for all of your hard work on the Saugatuck-Douglas Project.  This week's homework is to answer the 9 questions about your chosen location.   If you lose the directions or need more information visit:  projectsaugatuck.weebly.com
The at-home job is to gather enough information and knowledge to answer the required questions. Your child will organize the information and create the project at school.  
Many kids bring a folder with some printed information, answers to the questions, fun facts, and pictures.  If you email me pictures, your student will have access to them as he/she works.  It does not need to be neat, organized or in any sort of final form.  All of the final work will be done in class.  Please know that the answers to the questions can be very simple.  This is a 2nd-grade project and that is all we expect:
  • I chose this place because I love to eat ice cream here with my family. 
  • This is a human characteristic because it was built by people in 1962.  
  • This place is important because it is the only library in Saugatuck/Douglas.  The kids need a place to get books to read.  
  • Oval Beach has natural and human characteristics.  The lake, beach, and sand dunes are natural and the parking lot is human-made.  
  • Our community would be different if the marina was gone.  People would not have a place to dock their boats.
