Updates for the New Year

Happy New Year!  It feels great to get back into the swing of things.  We worked hard on our first day back.

Homework was sent home today and is due Monday.   Spelling lists were also sent home today.  Those words can be cut apart and sorted for practice.  We will practice these words at school for 2 weeks.   The spelling tests will beJanuary 11, 12, and 13.  Green group's test test is on the 11th, Red group on the 12th, and Blue group is on the 13th. Ask your child which group he or she is in. 

There has been some confusion about the boxes that labeledCVCe, CVVC, CVC etc.  The C represents a consonant.  TheV represents a vowel.  This is a new step for the students.  All sorts can be done without those C/V boxes.  The bold words can be used as example words.
