Saugatuck/Douglas Project Homework and Spelling

Please don't forget to go over the requirements of the Saugatuck/Douglas Project with your child this week. The first due date is Monday. I am asking you to sign the orange sheet so that I know that your child has made you aware of the project and you can help with deadlines.

For the next two weeks the research for this project will be your child's only homework. We know that the research takes time, so we wanted to make sure we didn't burden your child with any additional work on top of it.

If you need more information, or misplace the directions, you can find everything you need at the project's website.  http://projectsaugatuck.weebly.com/

We are almost done with our spelling tests for the year. The words that came home on Monday will be tested next week, on April 29th. The words that come home on Monday, May 2nd will be tested on Friday, May 13th. After that we will do a couple of review tests at school, but there will be no more words coming home.

The end of the year is in sight! Mrs. Kelley and I keep talking about how much our second graders have grown this year! As the year wraps up, we will be completing a lot of final assessments. Please be sure your child is at school, and on time, unless he or she is sick. It is easy for a child to become swamped with missed assignments and assessments, and I know that no one wants their child to feel overwhelmed. Thank you for supporting your child's education!
