In class we have been working strategies to use while adding and subtracting one and two-digit numbers. You will often notice our daily work coming home with both pencil and red pen marks. In class we learn about a concept, practice it together in our math journals, then work independently for a given amount of time. At the end of the given time we correct the work together in pen. It is your child's responsibility to fix anything he or she got wrong and fill in the work for anything that was not completed. The goal is to get all the work done in the given time. If your child is has a lot of red on his or her paper, please talk to them about using their time wisely.
Look at the blog often for picture examples of math problems. This will be helpful during homework.
